Velma R. Murdock

Velma Ross Murdock passed on October 29, 2022 in Porterville, CA at age 96. Velma was born February 28, 1926 in Lowland, North Carolina, daughter of the late Kelly and Adelaide Ross. She was preceded in death by her husband, Capt. Ernest Lee Murdock, Daughter Teresa Lee Belleview, daughter Nancy Kelly Ireland and granddaughter Kirsten Hewett and most recently her great granddaughter April Spurling. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Cemo and her husband James Cemo, numerous grandchildren, three great granddaughters and two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Velma was a dedicated military wife and moved with her family to many diverse parts of the country and the world. She was very adaptable and always made a lovely home for her family wherever they lived. In her later years Velma became enamored of Yorkshire terriers. Her little dogs brought her much joy and company, and how she loved them!
Private viewing will be held at Myers Funeral Service and Crematory on November 7, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, with Private graveside service following at St. Anne's Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
