Ronald James Hale
May 16, 1933 - August 30, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald James Hale, 92, on August 30, 2025 in Porterville, California. Those who knew Ron will remember his infectious smile, ready laugh, and his passion for the outdoors!
Ron was born on May 16, 1933 in Fresno, California to James V. Hale and Sadie Lampert Hale Farmer. He grew up in Porterville, attending local schools and graduating from Porterville High School. Ron worked at Broadview Citrus, as the Bennett Ranch foreman, for many decades, before becoming a hydroelectric technician for the Bureau of Reclamation Land Management. He first worked in California at San Luis Dam before transferring to Wyoming where he worked at both the Fontenelle and Seminoe Dams!
The move to Wyoming allowed Ron to expand his love for hunting, fishing and hiking California's hills and mountain, instilled in him from a young age by his beloved Grandpa Lampert, to include the wilds of his adopted Wyoming. He understood and loved the land and over the years he became an expert Well-Witcher as well as a trophy hunter. However, Ron took his greatest pride in passing this love of the outdoors and the sport it provides, as his legacy to his grandsons and great grandchildren.
Ron is survived by his wife, Nancy Anne Hale; his daughter, Ronda Louise Hale Hauk; and stepchildren, Laura Barlowe and Jeff Hanson. Ron was so proud of Ronda's three sons, Ryan Bay (Kimber) Darren Bay (Jaime) and Mason Hauk. He was also blessed with six wonderful great grandchildren and looked forward to their every visit, Kodiak Bay (Alesha) Kanaan Bay, James Bay (Rachel) Luke Bay (Sidney), and Ruby and Daisy Bay; his blessings continued with great-great granddaughters, Pearl Bay, Charlotte Bay, and Bonnie Bay.
A Graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Porterville, California on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
