Robert Francis Parker

Robert Francis Parker, age 88, a Forest Ranger and resident of Porterville, California, peacefully passed away in Porterville, CA on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

Robert was born in Porterville, CA on June 20, 1935 to George Washington Parker Sr. and Annie Potter. He attended schools in Terra Bella and Porterville. After graduating from Porterville Union High School, he served in the U.S. Army. He was later employed by the U.S. Forest Service and was stationed in various places in California. After retiring from the Forest Service, Robert returned to Porterville where he worked for and retired from the Tule River Reservation.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Suzanne Parker; four grandchildren; his siblings, Jimmie Parker, Lucille Kambick, Ruth Myers, and Gloria Parker; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, George Washington Parker Sr. and Annie Potter; and siblings, George Parker, Jr, Martha Packett, Henry Parker and Leila Hodge.

A service will be held at Myers Chapel in Porterville, California on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 1:30 PM. Interment to be private.
