Robert Dale Hood

Robert Dale Hood, 65, of Porterville, California, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025. Born on July 8, 1960, Robert lived a life full of humor, hard work, and a love for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha Hood and R.W. Hood. He is survived by his three siblings: Pamela Hart of Lindsay, Steven Hood of Oklahoma, and Phillip Hood of Oklahoma; his daughter, Crystal Shroyer of Porterville; his son, Robert R.W. Hood of Paso Robles; and his three grandchildren, Landon Bratcher, Daniel Troy Shroyer III, and Waylon Shroyer. Robert also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he loved.

Robert had a love for golf, fishing trips with his dad, and cranking AC/DC. He enjoyed a good laugh, a good smoke, and time spent with friends and family. A dedicated worker, Robert spent many years as a machine shop supervisor before later serving in a supervisory role at the local hospital.

He had a deep appreciation for his Ford Rangers, cheered on the Rams with passion, and carried a sense of humor that could light up any room. Robert lived life in his own way-authentically, unapologetically, and with a big heart.

His family and friends will remember his laughter, his stories, and the love he showed to those around him.

A Graveside Service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Porterville, on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM, with a Celebration of Life to follow.
