Patricia Ann Witzel

Patricia Ann "Patty" Witzel passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 81.

Born on September 11, 1944, in Portland, Oregon Patty was the daughter of Ida and Lenox Roark.

Patty spent much of her life in Lindsay, California, graduating from Lindsay High School in 1961. She furthered her education by attending business classes at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She worked as a bookkeeper for Bessey Accounting in Lindsay for many years. After moving to Porterville, Patty worked as the Student Activities Director at both Porterville High and Granite High, where she inspired and guided countless young minds.

Her life was beautifully centered around her faith, family, and a profound love for animals. Patty was a devoted Christian who taught Sunday School, Bible Study, and Awanas. With her children, she was active in 4-H and Scouting. In her later years, Patty dedicated herself as a CASA advocate and champion to underserved children in Tulare County.

Patty's home was a sanctuary not only for her family but for anyone in need of comfort and care. Whether it was a foreign exchange student or children in need of a safe haven, Patty welcomed all with open arms. Her love for animals was legendary, and together with her beloved husband Tim, they rescued and cared for many four-legged and flying friends.

She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Timothy Witzel, and her children: Jaime (Chambers) Campbell, Lisa (Chambers) Pulver-Hafker, Gregory Chambers, Wendy (Chambers) McCarley, Allison (Witzel) Jamar, and stepdaughter Heather (Witzel) Fiori, 12 adored grandchildren, and her brother, Donald Roark. Each of them carries forward the values and love she so generously imparted.

A service to celebrate Patty's cherished life will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Myers Funeral Service, located at 248 N. E St., Porterville, CA 93257. Interment to be private.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hoffmann Hospice and specifically nurse Greg Rouleau for his care and compassion in Patty's final years. In memory of Patty, her family kindly requests that donations be made to CASA of Tulare County or the Alzheimer's Research Association.

Patty was a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that touched everyone she encountered. She will be missed beyond measure.
