"Being to timelessness as it's to time,
love did no more begin than love will end" - E.E. Cummings.
Kimberly Job Otto, 71, passed away in Porterville, CA on March 29, 2026, leaving behind family and friends that will continue to love her the way she loved all of them.
Kimberly was born Kimberly Lu Job in Porterville, CA on May 29th 1954, to her parents Donald and Wilma Job. She grew up with her siblings, sister Erin Job and brothers Chris and Burt Job. Their childhood home, that was affectionately known as "The Big House," is where they spent much of their childhood together.
Kimberly attended Vandalia Elementary, Pioneer Junior High, Porterville High School, and Porterville College before studying business at California State University Bakersfield, graduating with her Bachelor's degree in finance. She worked at the Porterville Adult School, Gibraltar Savings, Porterville College, and finally with Porterville Public Schools as a substitute teacher.
On June 28, 1980 Kimberly married Robert Otto Jr, who would affectionately be known as either 'Robie' or 'RT.' Together they had three children: Megan Otto of Fresno, Brett Otto of Fresno, and Blake Otto (Madison) of Porterville. While her children were growing up, she made sure they were involved in a number of extra-curricular activities. With all that her children were involved in she was sure to never miss a single game, recital, or ceremony of any kind. Even if it meant having to go to multiple events in a single day. Kimberly continued to attend everything for each of her grandchildren: Brenden Otto, Bryson Otto, Addilynn Burcham-Gray, Hudson Otto, and Hendricks Otto. If you couldn't find her in the bleachers, you were sure to hear her voice, loud and proud as she cheered on and supported her family.
Kimberly could be found at some of her favorite places throughout the years. Entering the Otto home you were sure to find her sitting on the couch watching sports, specifically Raider Football or Laker Basketball. If she wasn't on the couch officiating or coaching a game, she was probably sitting in the backyard with Bob, holding onto one of her cats while admiring her garden and its wide variety of flowers. She could also be found in Fresno at Megan's house sitting with Megan and her dachshunds having a conversation, or down the street at Brett's house, spending time with Brenden and Bryson. If she was in Porterville and she wasn't at home, chances are she was at Blake's house nearby finding out what Addy, Hudson, and Hendricks were up to. Kimberly also spent countless hours on the phone with her lifelong friends, many of whom she considered family. If she had time to get away, she headed to the Central Coast to lay out under the sun on the sands of Pismo Beach.
Kimberly's family and friends will celebrate her life forever, always cherishing the memories made. A Graveside Service is to be held at Vandalia Cemetery in Porterville, California on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM. A Celebration of the Life of Kimberly Job Otto will be announced and held at a later date.
