Kenneth R. Johnson was born on November 13, 1943, to Oval and Mildred Johnson in Terra Bella, California. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on August 15, 2026.
Ken was raised in Terra Bella, where he attended local schools before continuing his education at Porterville High School. It was there that he met the love of his life, Margie, beginning a beautiful journey that would span 65 years of marriage.
Together, Ken and Margie built a loving family and raised two sons, Jason (Shirlee) Johnson and Clinton (Cathie) Johnson. He was a proud grandfather to Lauren, Audrey, Nick, and Evan, and a cherished great-grandfather to Kessler and Ainslee.
Ken found great joy in spending time outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing with his sons and treasured the many trips he and Margie took while traveling throughout the United States together. Family was always at the center of his life, and the memories they created over the years were filled with love, laughter, and lasting happiness.
He dedicated 25 years of service to the Tulare County Road Department in Terra Bella. Following his retirement, he spent another 30 years building and remodeling homes alongside his son, Clint, taking great pride in his work and the time they spent together.
Ken will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his devotion to his family, and the many memories he leaves behind. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy will continue through the lives of those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Johnson; his sons, Jason (Shirlee) Johnson and Clinton (Cathie) Johnson; his grandchildren, Lauren, Audrey, Nick, and Evan; his great-grandchildren, Kessler and Ainslee; and his sister, Faye Johnson of Ceres, California. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Frankie and Ivan Johnson; and his sister Betty Jennings.
A Graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Porterville, California on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 10:00 AM.
He leaves behind a lifetime of treasured memories and will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
