Juan Andrade Sr., born February 7, 1959, in Harlingen, Texas, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, April 26, 2026, in Porterville, California. He was 67 years old.
Juan was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. He married the love of his life, Patricia Arriola (now Patricia Andrade), in 1984, and together they built a beautiful family and life in Porterville.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Andrade; his children: Patricia Andrade (41), Gabriel Andrade (38), Raymond Andrade (37), Victoria Andrade (35), Danny Andrade (33), Frankie Andrade (31), and Isaac Andrade (24); and seven cherished grandchildren: Lilly, Ariana, Samuel, Victoria, Sophia, Valora, and Adalyn. He was preceded in death by his son, Juan Andrade Jr. "Boapie," who passed away in 2021, as well as his parents, Maria Carmen Andrade and Jose Antonio Andrade.
For over 30 years, Juan worked as a Custodian at the Porterville Developmental Center (P.D.C.), where he took great pride in his work. He also served as a Security Guard earlier in his career. Known as a strong provider and a "Mr. Fix It," Juan could repair anything-from his children's bikes to whatever else his family needed. He was the protector and pillar of his family, always making sure they felt safe and secure.
Juan was a man of deep faith and a devoted Christian who loved attending the Church of the Nazarene in Springville, CA. He found comfort there, especially because it was the church his beloved son had attended. He had a great love for Western movies and history, with a special admiration for John Wayne and the classic film The Ten Commandments. He also enjoyed collecting antique swords. Juan was known for his sense of humor and his ability to make those around him laugh. He was a selfless man who once sold his entire sword collection to pay the rent when his family needed it most. His love for his wife, children, and grandchildren was unwavering, even as his health declined in his later years. He continued to care for his family and adored spending time with his grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Myers Chapel in Porterville, CA on Friday, May 22, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with the funeral service starting at 12:00 PM. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Porterville, CA. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate the life of this strong, loving, and faithful man.
