Joe B. Ramirez

JOE BORJA RAMIREZ, a father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many, passed after a long battle with kidney disease, at the age of 59.

Joe is survived by three sons, Joseph Andrew Ramirez, Jonathan Domingo Ramirez and Jayme Domingo Ramirez; and three brothers and three sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and brothers, Larry Nucum, Jesus Cecilio Nucum, and David Nucum.

Joe was born on January 22, 1967, in San Fernando, Pampanga, Philippines, to Jose B. Nucum and Secondina Ramirez Nucum of Terra Bella, CA. He is a graduate of Terra Bella Elementary School, Porterville High School and the Nursing Program at Porterville College.

Joe worked at Sierra View Hospital for several years as a Certified Nursing Assistant, earning both CNA of the Month, and CNA of the Year honors. During such time, he continued his educational pursuits in Child Development, later becoming a Teachers' Assistant at the Headstart Program in Terra Bella, before moving over to the Porterville Child Development Center and Family Focus. Joe would later become a Substance Abuse Counselor at Alternative Services and Rehab, until he was diagnosed in the late 2010's.

Joe is deeply missed by his family, friends and those who knew him.

A Visitation to be held at Myers Chapel in Porterville, California on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Rosary will be held at Myers Chapel in Porterville, California on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Anne's Church in Porterville, California on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 9:00 AM. Interment to follow at St. Anne's Cemetery in Porterville, California.
