Glen F. Stephens

October 23, 1938 — November 27, 2024

Glen Floyd Stephens was born on October 23, 1938, in Colorado, to Dan Stephens and his mother, Emma Shively. He had five brothers and one sister. Glen lived his younger years in Arkansas and moved on to Nebraska to live with his Uncle Bum, who had an auto service shop. This is where Glen learned basic mechanics at the age of sixteen. He then came to California to work with his dad and brothers, harvesting fruit from California to Washington.

In 1957, Glen went to work for H.R. Matzke in Southeast Porterville, CA. This became the place where he would stay for the rest of his life. He fell in love with Pat, and they were married for sixty-four years. He raised his family: Carrie Carrillo (spouse Terry Carrillo - deceased), Danny Stephens (spouse Lynda Wolfe Stephens), and Cheryl Albers (spouse Charles Albers), and had five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Glen was a jack of all trades and a master of most. His passion was mechanics and the fabrication of farm equipment. Farming was his job, which he continued until 2022. His favorite pastimes were RV camping, poker nights, and going to the casino with his brother Jerry. Glen was a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His name should've been Elmer because he was the glue that kept our family together!
