In Loving Memory of
Eugene "Pete" Hauk
August 27, 1949- June 27th, 2025
With heartfelt love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Eugene "Pete" Hauk, a devoted father, brother, friend, and proud U.S. Army veteran. Pete served his country with distinction during the Vietnam War, entering active duty in January 1969 and receiving an Honorable Discharge in December 1970 with the rank of Sergeant.
His exceptional service earned him the following military commendations: National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal (awarded by the government of South Vietnam to allied Forces) and Good Conduct Medal.
Following his military service, Pete continued his life of dedication and service, retiring as the Director of Maintenance and Operations at Porterville College, where he was respected for his work ethic, leadership, and care for campus and community.
Pete was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Hauk, his beloved daughter, Leslie Cottingham, and his brothers-in-law, Clarence Britt and Tim Wilson.
He is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Linda Britt, Betty Mobley, Paul Hauk, Laverne Walley (Michael), and Brenda Wilson; His children, grandchildren and extended family; and a wide circle of lifelong friends.
A Memorial Service will be held to honor Pete's life and legacy on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Porterville, California.
All who knew and loved Pete are welcome to join in celebrating the life of a man whose strength, humility, and loyalty touched the hearts of many. Your presence and support are deeply appreciated.
