September 4, 1943 — June 25, 2024

Charles B. Adams, age 80, from Terra Bella, CA, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. He was born in McAlester, OK on September 4, 1943. When Charles was around 2 years old, his family moved to Texas. Charles lived there through his high school years. He married Cheryl White and they had a son, Rowdy Adams Meeker.

In 1967, Charles enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served overseas as an Infantry Sergeant during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1969. After his service in the Army,

Charles moved to Porterville, CA. There, he met Juanita Jimenez, and they were married in 1973. They adopted a son, Charles B. Adams, Jr. He then worked at Tallman Subaru as a used car sales manager for about 35 years. In 1993, he purchased his own auto dealership, Kar Korral, where he worked until he retired. After retirement, he cared for Juanita, his wife of 44 years, until her passing. During this time, he kept active training and trading horses.

In 2014, Charles married Cathy McCaffrey. Together they pursued a mutual interest in horses. They loved to travel and spend time exploring the southwest, always keeping an eye out for the next horse to train. They particularly enjoyed attending Mule Days contests each Memorial Day weekend in Bishop, CA. Charles was also an enthusiastic and vocal supporter of Cathy at her Gymkhana events.

Charles made many lifetime friends over the years. He loved spending time with family and friends, showing an avid interest in the people he loved. He was very active in the Terra Bella Church of the Nazarene, where he and Juanita were involved in the Terra Bella Food Pantry. His faith was very important to him, along with teaching scripture to children and anyone else who wanted to learn about the Gospel.
