Candace was born 27 January 1951 to Charles Mann and Gloria (Sommer) Mann of Woodlake, California. She was raised in Woodlake where she attended the Elementary and High Schools, and held various jobs in the area. Candace later moved to Fresno where she met and married her husband Ronald in 1977 and also held a number of roles at Bank of America.
Candace decided to give up her role at Bank of America to take on that of a full-time homemaker for her children: Charles, Christeen and Thomas.
The family relocated to Strathmore to be closer to family, and Candace was involved with the schools her children attended: Sunnyside Elementary School and Strathmore High School. She was an active member of the PTA, and would help organize book fairs and would regularly assist with other events at the schools.
Steadfast in her faith, she attended St. Anne's in Porterville, St. John's in Strathmore, and St. Aloysius in Tulare when she was able to.
She loved animals, especially ducks, geese, chickens and cats. She loved her vegetable gardening and sharing the vegetables with whoever she could. In later years, she loved keeping up with her friends online, watching her television shows, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Candace struggled with health issues throughout her life, but was able to overcome them through her faith and help from family. Even when her health prevented her from being away from home, she would show kindness and thoughtfulness by sending fruits, vegetables and baked goods to those within the community.
Candace passed peacefully at home on 30 August 2025, surrounded by her family. Candace is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Gloria Mann; her brother, Charles "Chuck" Mann.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ronald Abee; son, Charles Abee and daughter-in-law Allison; daughter, Christeen Abee and son-in-law Jake; son, Thomas Abee and his partner Mike Swift; and her grandsons, Calvin Abee and Martin Abee, all of who were the absolute joy of her life.
A private service and burial will be held for family. Remembrances may be made to the donor's favorite charity in Candy's name.
