Betty Anne Rivinius

Betty Anne Rivinius passed away on August 31, 2026. She was 97 years old.

Betty was born in Epping, North Dakota in 1929 to Peter and Elizabeth Karp. Betty attended Epping schools and attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, North Dakota. She then moved to Stockon, California in 1949 where she married Bill Rivinius in 1950.

Betty and Bill moved to Porterville in 1954 and Betty was employed at the Porterville Developmental Center for 27 years, retiring in 1983. She and Bill then moved to Oroville, CA where Betty volunteered at the library and elementary schools while in Oroville. She and Bill traveled around the United States in their motorhome during this time. Betty lived there until Bill's passing in 2000 and shortly thereafter returned to Porterville to be near family.

After returning to Porterville, Betty enjoyed time with old friends and belonged to Birthday and Bunko groups (nickname Bad Betty). She also enjoyed attending her grandson's many sporting events over the years.

Betty is survived by her daughters Renee Anthoney (Peter) of Sacramento, CA and Susan Reneau (George) of Porterville, CA., grandsons Jacob Reneau and James (Kagen) Reneau, and four great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents Peter and Elizabeth, brother Jack, sisters Pat and Alice, two infant babies and daughter (Connie 1987) and husband (Bill 2000).

A viewing will be held at Myers Chapel in Porterville, CA on Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Porterville, CA on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 1:00 PM.
