Salomon Leyva was born July 25, 1933 in Andocutin, Guanajuato, Mexico. He passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021 in the comfort of his home in Porterville, at the age of 87.
Salomon was born to Jose and Refugio Leyva. He migrated to California at the age of 29 and traveled throughout the state as a migrant worker. He later settled in Porterville, where he married Gloria Bernal Leyva in 1968, and remained married to her for 39 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jose, and Refugio; his wife, Gloria; two of his daughters, Ana Mesa, and Tina Gonzales; seven of his siblings, Rafael Leyva, Jacinto Leyva, Adalberta Ramirez, Carmen Velarde, Marcelino Leyva, Jorge Leyva, Atalo Leyva, and Jose Leyva.
He is survived by two of his daughters, Veronica Lara of Riverside, and Sandra Leyva Higuera of Porterville; three, of his siblings; Roberto Leyva, Angel Leyva, and AnaMaria Leyva: 10 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews whom he all loved dearly.
