Frederick Gordon Albers

On January 3rd, 2022, Fred G. Albers, 83, passed away peacefully in his sleep. Fred was a long-time resident of the Porterville area. He grew up in New Jersey, he graduated from Seton Hall University, served in the Army Chemical Corps in Anniston, Alabama and later finished his working life at Beckman, where he retired after 28 years of service.
Fred was best known for his collection of toy trains and always enjoyed showing the collection to friends and fellow collectors. Fred loved visiting with old friends and making new ones. He was an avid storyteller and had one for every situation. He loved dogs and was known to always have one big or small.
Fred is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joanne; his three sons, Charlie and wife Cheryl, Peter and wife Heidi, and Tim and his wife Heidi. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Zack, Emily and Aiden; and his French Bulldog, Jacque.
